Crackle

I love the look of crackle paint and bought a two step system probably over 8 years ago and then it just sat in my craft room. And sat and sat! When I finally tried to use it this past year on this project, it didn't work! A few weeks ago Micheals was clearing out a lot of Tim Holtz products and I saw a Crystal Lacquer (which I love!) that crackled!! For $1.99 I wanted to give it a whirl and I am so happy that I did!

I really like to work with text and I loved the idea that my friend and fellow angel, Yuki, sent into The Angel Company. She takes some tape and just touches the text in spots and then lifts it up to remove some of the print. My tape was too strong so I had to tap it down on the counter a few times before I touched the paper. I love the results!

I colored my image with Tombow markers and then just topped it with the crystal lacquer...after all, aren't most Adirondack chairs a bit distressed? tee hee... I also love the look of the embossed Winchester paper. I rubbed a Burnt Umber palette ink pad across it lightly to make those impressions pop even more.

I think I've had these shell buttons for more than 5 years - I loved their look and hues but they never seemed to fit right until just now!

Stamps: Anchor to the Soul
Accessories: Winchester Soar with It Collection and cardstock, Nestabilities oval, cuttlebug script and tapestry embossing plates, corner punch, Tim Holtz crackle crystal lacquer, shell button, Tombow markers

This card is FANTASTIC! I would love to be sitting in that chair right now, near the water, and reading a great book (that is the image this card brought to mind)
