Technique Blog Hop!

It's blog hop time over at The Angel Company again and I didn't think I would have a chance to play along this time. But, I started my card last night in between cleaning bathrooms, running kids out to movies and dinner (my husband and I finally sat down to eat at 10 pm - insane!), and that was after subbing a half day, taking the car to get fixed, running out to Walmart for a quick Christmas gift that I have to wrap and mail today...etc, etc. I'm sure you recognize the day!! :)

I finished up this morning with the ribbon and happy birthday tag - I am late sending out my BIL a card so this is the perfect solution - a card for him and the blog hop!

Today's technique features brayers. I have been a long time fan of Michelle Zindorf. She is a demo for another stamp company but travels around the midwest teaching her brayer techniques at various stamp stores. She's also kind enough to share super detailed tutorials here on her blog. In fact the post I am sending you to is the direct inspiration for this card. I used all TAC supplies for my card and honestly, I threw my first attempt out. Even this card I'm not 100% happy with but it's good practice because you can see what works and what doesn't for you...so don't give up on your first try!!

This little penguin is one of The Angel Company's free stamp with purchase choices...and this month, when you spend $30, you get to pick out 3 stamps for free!
Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company, clear embossing powder, 2 blue/1 purple dye inks, border punch, ribbon, metal loop, gel pens to color penguin, versamark ink/blender pen, and BRAYER!

Be sure to check out all of the other great creations below!

I think you are too hard on yourself. Brayered scenes LOOK tricky, so people are impressed even when the scenes don't come out as well as you would like.

Anyway, this is very cute!
