Little Girls and Butterfly Wings

Somewhere in my stockpile of photos (I really must try scrapbooking in earnest one of these days - there are so many wonderful memories floating around in a cardboard box!) is a picture of my daughter in butterfly wings. Over the years she's had several pairs of wings and they all got a lot of use!

The little girl in this set reminds me of those days...and even though it's technically a "halloween" themed stamp set, I think paired with this Kaleidoscope Girls paper pad it's good for anytime!

Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company
Stamps: Delightfully Spooky
Accessories: Kaleidoscope Girls paper pad, Nestabilities, CB embossing plate, ribbon, button, scrappers floss

I colored her with Copic markers while I was on my Copic coloring roll. I haven't picked one up in about two weeks and I think I might have a slight learning curve ahead of me again!

Just some quick "businessy" news:

  • Only 7 more days to take advantage of all the different specials going on over at The Angel Company...you can see all of these goodies on my right sidebar...
  • I've started a local Meet Up group so if you live in the area, you can keep up with my upcoming classes...that is posted on left sidebar.

Tent Card!

I've had a tutorial for a tent card tucked away for ages but it was always overcome by events. Last week though I got the final push to try one when it was featured in the SCS newsletter. These are extremely easy to make and are guaranteed not to be thrown away by the receiver! tee hee...

I want to first shout out a huge thanks to Sannie in the Netherlands...I met Sannie probably 3 years ago over the internet and she sent me some lovely happy mail packages. One time there were the neatest stuffed Halloween doo-dads (for the lack of a better word!) and you'll see the bats here in this card. They are satiny and puffy so they make my tent card extra special in real life.

and a view from the side...

Copics I used...

Card Materials: all papers and stamps from The Angel Company
Stamps: Delightfully Spooky, Happy Haunting, Decorative Corners
Accessories: Miss Moxie Soar with it Collection and cardstock, CM circle cutter, thread, stuffed bats, Copics

Don't forget that this set, Delightfully Spooky, is just $10.95 this month when you make a $30 purchase...and I hope you come back on Friday to see some more super cute Halloween cards. They are different shaped cards that I have been itching to try and I guess this was the week to step out of my box and get busy.

I like to blog hop and along the way I pick up great tips not just for cardmaking, but also for cooking! Last week Ashley posted about the Delicious Food blog and off I went to visit. So far I've made the Summer Scampi and the Thai Green Chicken Curry and want to report that both were absolutely delicious. I did reduce the Parmesian Cheese by more than half for the scampi but it was so, so good and I always feel a bit better at the end of the day when I can serve my family something yummy to eat. :)

How about a little color?

On this super gloomy day!
(note to self, next time edge the cut out image in black so the leftover white isn't so glaringly obvious on a close up!)

In case you missed it, or didn't click on the link...this is the Stamp of the Month and it's available for only $10.95 with a $30 order. Even though my kids are older, this set is irrestible for me! Barb Foster has created some terrific samples over on The Angel Company's website if you haven't made up your mind after this post, tee hee...

I find this little dog so funny! I decided to kick up the colors with Cha Cha Soar with it Collection/cardstock and I found that I had two Copic Caboodle sets that went with it perfectly.

and look, I even decorated the inside...gasp!!

So here are the copics I used...the browns, reds and oranges...plus the purple, pink and grey! I have to admit it, I'm getting addicted to these copic markers!

We have a football weigh-in tonight - cross your fingers that my son loses two pounds today and then he'll have moved up a skill level for football and will be the starting center! Gobbly gook to those of you who don't speak "football!"... and my daughter made the JV cheerleading team as a freshman so she's super excited as well. I might as well put the TAXI sign on top of my car right now and accept my fate, eh?!?

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. I hope you are smack in the middle of a TERRIFIC week!
