SCS Card Sketch

I really should not have stopped this morning to make a card (and in the end, I goofed a snitch on the layout - the vertical panel should have been on the left side)...but I needed just a moment of "me" time. Sorta selfish, but it's done and so now the rest of the day I will be productive!!

Some of the details are that I embossed the purple panel and then rubbed it with Versamark ink. I haven't colored in a week with copics and it shows...sigh. I'm always at a loss when it comes to pants and trying to work 3 colors in. Do I color in the sides and highlight the front or should I have the light angle coming in on one side? Those are the questions I have each time I sit down to color clothing without any designated folds or shadows.

Oh well, it's a good fall card - though I do miss this retired Mulberry Meadows paper from The Angel Company.

Happy Earth Day!

I don't have a really, really "green" card per se, but I did manage to "recycle" this card. Have you ever created something so hideous that you asked yourself, "what was I thinking?!?" That happened to me with this card. I clear embossed two of these umbrellas and cut them out and attached them to a black embossed panel...very oriental looking with the Robin Egg #1 paper beneath. Then I added the sheer ribbon and a HUGE pink button...yuck, splutter, gross, hideous! Really, that's being kind!

So I threw away the pink umbrellas so I wouldn't fiddle with it anymore...and then I happened upon this yellow leftover scrap from another card. It matched the base card perfectly and the rest came together quickly. (well, relatively quick!)

So...here is my "recycled" base card with original ribbon and by adding new scraps, a flower and shiny button - voila, I'm much happier with these results!

Card Materials:

Don't forget to check out the free downloadable papers from The Angel Company! Some of the gals printed the patterns out on colored paper for a really neat effect...I ended up wiping ink around the edges of my paper for a different look! The greens DO match in real life!!

Card Materials:
Stamps: Fall Harvest (Fall Supplement)
Papers: Free downloads!, DCWV Flora #2, TAC Ultrasmooth White
Misc: Scrapper's floss Lime, Palette inks (Charteuse, Noir), Transcedence Powder for embossing!
