Case Study

This weekend I took a few moments to play along with the CASE study challenge...the inspiration piece was so lovely, clean and simple, that I knew I had to make time to play along. I think I'll be using this layout again! What took me the longest was deciding which border punch to use! :)

Here is the inspiration piece:

And here is my work using Copics with the set, Lovely Peony, from The Angel Company:

Thanks for stopping by today - I appreciate your visit!! And thank you for the well wishes/prayers for my daughter...each day has gotten easier but those first few hours were extremely tough!

Happy Mother's Day

Here are my final cards for the sketch challenge over at The Angel Company. I took the pictures on a rainy day but they had to get in the mail or they would be late for that special day! :)

Same image, copics and papers (gosh do I ever love this Emma Soar with it Collection!!) but just a slight twist so that both cards wouldn't be the same...not that they went to the same place!

For my Mother in Law...

and for my mom...since I didn't use the patterned paper, I wish I had matted the panels because it looks a little plain here.

Other Challenges:

AiFactory - Mother's Day
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Happy Mother's Day
Craft Us Crazy - Mother's Day and/or flowers
Crafty Sentiments - flowers

Have a super weekend!

Tune in Tuesdays - Flowers

Finally, I got to sit and color this gorgeous Peony from The Angel Company. These happen to be one of my favorite flowers and I remember I was so excited to move "north" so that I could plant some in my gardens. They were one of my first plant purchases and by now the bushes are getting to be a lovely size.

Card Materials: Lovely Peony, Copics, Emma Soar with it Collection

This was so easy to color! I started with my darkest color each time and then worked backwards, but I just used the shading of the stamp image to "tell" me where to lay down the color. I grabbed the pinks and yellows from the Caboodle C Copic set and the green I chose was from Set F. Best of all, they went perfectly with the Emma paper collection. I hope you'll have a chance to play along...who doesn't love flowers?!?

Guest Designer Today! Delicate Florals

Today is the day! I'm terrified and excited at the same time...I am the Guest Designer over at The Angel Company's Savvy Projects Blog. Here is a short version of my post...

This first card features chalks. I love white cards - they really make the main image shine. But, I also love texture and I was able to add those little touches through the cardboard and Impressionabilities background.

Next I used Copics on my Delicate Florals. I bought this set for these narrow sprigs - you can see my first project in my sidebar for some really cool watercolored gift tags. Copics are bright and vivid - I love them! But, in this case, I wanted to soften up the look a bit and layered them with vellum. This double sided Emma paper from The Angel Company is a MUST HAVE.

This was the very first card I made with my Delicate Florals set. I love to watercolor with Tombow markers and the key here is to use 2-3 shades of each color to get a more intense color. I learned to drag a Versamark pad over dry embossing from Mischelle and it's great how it really makes the background pop.

My last card is a bookmark card! It's an oldie but goodie I think...the perfect note to send a friend. I used Prismacolor pencils on both sets of flowers and then fussy cut them out...the details to make this card are over on the Savvy Projects Blog.

Well, that wraps it up. Thank you so much for visiting me today! Thank you to Mischelle for giving me the chance to be a Guest Designer today...what an honor!

Don't forget that The Angel Company is having a special stamp sale with all of these featured stamps (and more!!) on sale for 25 % off...you can see the details here.
