Another tag!

I heard that the woman who is receiving these tags is just tickled with them (and the gifts of course!)...but how nice when our hobby/craft/passion can be a blessing to someone, eh?!

Here is another one of the tags I've been creating. I wish I had time to play along with Tim Holtz's tags but maybe I'll be able to go back and try one or two of his techniques...they look wonderful and I've enjoyed seeing other's creations.

All supplies from The Angel Company. This little guy is covered with white flocking and colored with Copics. Hope you are having a great week!

PS. I have one present bought - yippee!!

One more Cupcake Cutie!

Did you know that you can actually win a prize for playing along with the daily blog hops going over at The Angel Company? There was already one lucky winner for last week, and each week Mischelle will be drawing a random winner from all of the cards entered! Check out all the fun going-ons over at the Savvy Projects Blog!

I had a little extra time yesterday and started coloring my kitty with Prismacolored pencils and gamsol. The Catelynne papers were all scraps I had laying around...beneath the kitty I had actually punched out a snowflake from the blue paper. :) I stamped Running Stitches in Brilliance Moon White and embossed it with white powder because I didn't feel like dragging out my sewing machine. The flower is from the In Bloom Blossoms and Buttons collection - tied off with some scrapper's floss! And did you notice that tiny little pearl in the flower? Definately a "girl" card!

Thanks for visiting me today - I've gotta run! I finally have my car back from the shop after two weeks...

Heather's Sketch

Every Monday Heather faithfully posts a sketch challenge and I love to see what she comes up with. I rarely have a chance to play along but this weekend I had the perfect opportunity because I need a quick birthday card for my dad and this sketch was easy with the right stamp in hand!

My Dad and Mom live in Northern Wisconsin and they love to see the birds come by ... everyday my dad is outside filling up birdfeeders. In the spring, by the way, the bear comes around and rips them down - once it even tore a piece of wood siding off of the house in an effort to get a particularly high feeder! Anyways, I thought this sweet little guy and his bird would be perfect.

Card Materials: all stamps and papers are from The Angel Company
Stamps: Merriest Wishes, {words, retired}
Accessories: Kraft, Scarlet and Olive cardstock is heavy weight, beautiful paper from TAC! Copics (yes, I am addicted to these now), ribbon, CB embossing folder

I'm featured in the second the card - woohoo, Mischelle was inspired by one of my cards. I'm on top of the world!! To see the other neat ideas, please visit:

SCS Sketch Challenge

I should be doing a zillion other things but I'm waiting for our handyman to come give me an estimate on work so I decided to play along with the SCS card sketch challenge again this week. I've had enough of Halloween cards for a while so for some reason, I grabbed my snowman from The Angel Company's Merriest Wishes set. I love these four little characters!

I think that I must have watercolored on the backside of my watercolor paper - it just did not want to blend at all and soaked up and stayed immediately where the ink landed. I never knew that there was a difference so I will have to be much more careful in the future...sigh... Still, I plowed forward as I hate to give up on an image (it's just paper...I know! argh)

I had the hardest time with the little strip for the sketch in the center...I wanted something eye catching and different. I had a great flourish from a Sizzix die I bought (and hadn't used) last year but it wasn't quite right. I wanted snowflakes but there were flowers in my background DP so I grabbed my Martha Stewart hydrangea punch...it's my ode to summer!

Card Materials: Merriest Wishes from The Angel Company
Accessories: Sizzix die, MS punch, Tombow markers, watercolor paper

Thanks for stopping by today - hope your week is going well. I may just go back and stamp a little saying in the bottom right corner but for now, chores await me!

Introducing

my good friend Silke, who lives in Germany. My parents immigrated from Germany just after they were married - over 50 years ago. I speak a garbled German but good enough for someone to understand what I'm trying to say...but luckily for me, Silke speaks great English (like most Germans - they all learn it in school there, plus third and fourth languages, sometimes!). If you visit her blog, you can translate the page in Google by right clicking on your mouse and then selecting Page Info...that takes you to more choics and you pick, Translate this page to English!

This is just a tiny selection of her cardmaking "greatness"!

Here are all of the cards that Silke has made with her stamps from The Angel Company but her blog has a huge variety of great cards, and I just love her style!

Where does time fly?

sigh...can you believe that it's almost 2010?! I feel like I am in a time warp...the days are racing by so fast. I haven't even cut out my new stamps yet - shame on me. That's one of my goals for tomorrow.

So the other day I mentioned that I had some exciting news. I won the Whimsy Winter contest for demonstrators!! I was so excited when I found these plastic snowflakes at the dollar store and knew I wanted encorporate them into a banner. I have seen all sorts of wonderful banners over the past few months and really wanted to give one a try. I used the Lilly Anna paper pack for a more whimsical look and who can resist these cute snowmen from the set, Merriest Wishes? It took me a while to come up with this final layout but I was thrilled with it when it was done...even my daughter approved! :)

You are probably squinting at this point! tee hee...so here are some close ups.

The Angel Company has some exciting specials coming up for the New Year - check here or your newsletter for all of the details.

So cute

I've always loved snowmen, but these latest little guys and gals from The Angel Company are just so cute!

Here's a very simple sketch (inspired by Amy Rohl) and it uses the Merry Wishes paper pack that is ON SALE from The Angel Company. I love, love this paper pack and had been hoarding it until they just put it back out "while supplies last".

It's 16 pages of cardstock (thick stuff!), 2 pages of alpha stickers and a page of tags...all for just $9.98!

Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company
Stamps: Merriest Wishes
Accessories: Merry Wishes paper, Green #1 DCWV, MS snowflake punch, fiskars border punch, stickles, button, scrappers floss, Scor Pal, corner rounder, pencils/gamsol, ribbon

I used my scor pal here to add some interest to the all white panel. See my fun "snow" at the bottom? Come back on Friday to find out how easy it is to make this yourself!

PS. I am still looking for Missy who won my last blog candy! Please send me an email with your address before Thanksgiving or I will have to draw a new name...

New Toys

Last post I talked about dragging out old, long neglected tools. Today's card features new toys! :)

New stamp set - Merriest Wishes (these are such cute snow people!)
Scor bug - just got it (love it!)
Sizzix die snowflakes - hey, they were on sale!

For the snowflakes I die cut them out of the white cardboard included in a Reese Cup package - then I mushed them into the Essential Glue Pad and coated them with Prisma glitter (these are both products carried by The Angel Company). They are incredibly sparkly!

I had originally planned to have the snowman on the left side but I stamped the saying slightly crooked and rearranged the layout accordingly. Honestly, I love it this way!

Card Materials: all stamps and papers are from The Angel Company
Stamps: Merriest Wishes
Accessories: Kraft paper, blue bazzill, fiskars border punch, sizzix, prismacolored pencils, scor bug

Isn't this saying so cute?
