Golden Egg and Blog Candy!

Friday April 22-Sunday April 24

Who doesn’t love a golden egg! Just like our kids we can’t wait to crack it open and see what’s inside. This month The Angel Company is combining our love for Golden Eggs with a cardmaking challenge!

To play along cardmakers MUST use the items in the Golden Egg, on their cards, and then upload them to our Savvy Projects Blog share!

What is in the Golden Egg (Items that have to be on your card):

1. GLITTER ~ Prisma glitter or glitter pens … it just has to have glitter!
2. LAYERS ~ At least 3!
3. COLOR ~ At least 3 colors or more! Ink, prisma pencils, copics, etc.
4. RIBBON or SCRAPPERS FLOSS
5. FLOWERS ~ At least 1!

So here is my card for the challenge and I hope you'll play along!!

{sorry for the quality of the photo - I had to scan my card because it is a dreary, rainy day outside! There is glitter on the flower, hat band and scarf!}

And just to thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and take a peek at my creations, I want to offer up some blog candy! This has to be one of my favorite sets, Hope Perches, and since you can only earn it with a Hostess Party this is YOUR chance to win it now! Just leave a comment below by midnight, Sunday and I will announce the winner on Monday.

I think this set is so appropriate this Easter weekend...hope and faith get us through those trying days. Blessings to you!

Fabulous February - Joy of Easter

sigh...today is the last day of You Make February Fabulous! I hope you have enjoyed the inspiration from the Guest Designers and don't forget that TODAY is the last day you can buy all of these wonderful, featured stamps for 25% off. Did you see something you just had to have that didn't really catch your eye before? I saw lots and the set I just ordered was Be Lifted (with the kites)...I can't wait to play with it!

Today's card is really simple but sweet, I think. I colored my image in with colored pencils and gamsol. That touch of lace is left over from when my Mother In Law made a colonial style dress for my daughter when she was in the 4th grade (she's in 9th now so I've really held on to these scraps for a LONG time, eh?!)

I heat embossed the saying, which is from the Filled With Joy set - I used it a lot this month! So many wonderful sayings...

Catching up!

Phew! I had a nice visit with my in laws, my sister and her family, and my sister-in-law and niece...but now I am just trying to catch up. Today I cranked out 3 cards for the Card Call that The Angel Company is having for their next catalog coming out 1 June. I knew which papers I wanted to play with and had two sets in mind but that's it. Surprisingly, they came together quickly and I'm pretty pleased with them. I mailed them priority mail so I hope they make it in before it's too late. Cross your fingers - I think the competition will be tough, but that's a good thing!

I forgot about this card that I made a while back. I just love, love, love it! Heather had been using her chalks and so I grabbed mine out again too and I love the way the colors turned out. I had planned to enter this into a contest, but then couldn't bare to part with it because I was worried that I would never be able to color a mushroom so perfectly again. Is that silly or what?!

I was inspired by my friend Silke to use more than one edge punch and I love the cuttlebug embossing on the green.

Card Materials: All stamps and papers from The Angel Company

Gosh it's hot here! The last two days have been in the high 90 degrees. I finally put on AC last night so that we could sleep. Even my chickens are panting. Speaking of which, they are loving the weather change and "talked" all weekend long. A neighbor two houses down approached my hubby in the gym (first time they've talked, I think!) and asked if we had a rooster. Yikes...we don't but get 5 lady hens together and they can make a racket. I hope they settle down soon! PS. I'm also going to deliver a dozen of eggs to hopefully make a "new friend", tee hee...

The Joy of Easter

I can't believe how early Easter is this year - if you like to send out cards for this holiday, The Angel Company has a great selection of stamps that just came out in their Serendipity Magalogue.

Take this set, The Joy of Easter!
I was able to make a cute but quick card with some gorgeous Catalynne paper and my new border punch...I've been coveting this one for a while, bought it some time back but was very disappointed because it ripped apart my paper so I returned it...my coveting continued and so on Friday I went back and tried again - success!! It's a good working punch and I love it!

Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company
Stamps: The Joy of Easter
Accessories: Chalk kit, Dove blender pen, buttons, Scrappers Floss (tan), ric rac, EK Success border punch, Catalynne paper and green DCWV

If you don't get my newsletter, you don't know about my personal special this month...spend $30 and get a chance to win one jar of white and a jar of yellow fun flock...it's all about Easter this month! And, if you have a hostess party - you will automatically get 4 chance to win...
