More ... or ... Less?

I know that sometimes, more equals more and less is just less.

But sometimes, less is more!! Know what I mean?!

This card is a case in point...do I go with the embossed green panel, or just leave it plain?

I cased my favorite card in the latest issue of Serendipity from The Angel Company. If you aren't getting our catalogs in hard cover, you really are missing out on some great card ideas and projects. I love how it's set up litte a magazine - hence the name, "Magalogue"! You can still get a copy but now The Angel Company has made Serendipity available as a PDF and you can download it here.
But, back to my card! I used the Flourish impressionabilities plate from Spellbinders that we now carry and inked it up with Noir palette ink. Then I ran it through and embossed/inked the base cardstock in one sweep. So, this is my "more" card...

But I also like the clean look of the "less" card...

And I really don't want you to miss out on the butterfly. Once I colored it in with Prismacolored pencils and gamsol, I covered it in Crystal Lacquer, let it dry overnight and then cut it out. It's just gorgeous in real life.

All stamps and papers from The Angel Company.

If you need anything this month (you don't want to miss out on the Celebrate Him sets!) April 15th is the day to order! I am paying the sales tax for you...so save instantly by emailing me your order before midnight, or order on line and I will send you a check. Either way, you win!

So, I should be cleaning...

but I wanted to post some of my cards that we made today for my Birthday card class!

Here's the full view of the Little Cupcake card, sweet and simple.

And to mix things up a bit, here is a more "involved" card using the beautiful Angelee Soar with it Collection from The Angel Company and the stamp set, True Beauty.

I wanted to show how versatile these stamps are ~~ we embossed and then just cut out the butterfly for this card.

Isn't this Labels 9 Nestabilities divine? I'm so happy that we carry a nice selection of Spellbinders dies now!

Well, kids are home in 30 min and I haven't even begun to clean house...better get busy!

Everyday Inspiration

It's fun to see where different folks get inspired from...yesterday I found the most fabulous color combination in my outfit and couldn't wait to make a card to match! I had to take my daughter to the dentist and I had been wearing an old jean "skort" all day. Not sure just when these went out of style but since it's comfortable, I still wear it - much to her dismay. Not wanting to get chewed out all the way to the dentist's office, I quickly looked through my drawers at what I could throw on. I had brown jeans laying out...good start...and found a bright (almost pink) coral top with the tag still on that I bought probably last year. Perfect! Stephanie was thrilled with the outfit and I even wore it later that night to her school's open house. So, double bonus, I felt and looked good AND! was inspired to make a card from this outfit.

Card Materials: all stamps and papers are from The Angel Company

Sorry that is so short...I am scheduling this to post because I'm off to the airport to pick up my husband after rushing around to pick up the house! eeck... I ran out of time. Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Butterfly Sympathy

This morning I woke up and I really wanted to work with my True Beauty butterfly stamps. I had a whole different direction for my card in mind...but then I took a quick peek at the Wednesday sketch challenge over on SCS and I knew that would be perfect for this stamp set. This was such a quick card and having a paper pack from The Angel Company's Soar with it Collection and matching cardstock made it super easy to get started. When I saw the purple hues of Angelee I thought "butterflies!"... the image itself was simple because I just needed 4 different Tombow markers and an aquabrush.

Sadly this card is going to a friend of the family. I've known Bob and Betty since I was a kid and they even came to my wedding...Bob passed away last week at 82, without warning. It scares me since my parents are in their late 70's...but really, we have to make the most of each day, what ever our age!

Card Materials:
Stamps: True Beauty
Accessories: Fiskars punch, ribbon, Tombow markers, aquabrush, Angelee Soar with it Collection and cardstock

I might had a little stickles for sparkle to this butterfly yet...still trying to get a better photo. sigh.... Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

True Beauty

This past week for my hostess club we made the perfect Mother's Day card...True Beauty was the ideal stamp for this sparkly creation! I don't have any Shimmerz but decided to use what I had on hand ... Pearl Ex for some 7 years now (wow, it felt good to use it again)!! Add a Dove blender pen and we were set.

So here is my card based on my downline, Karen's, gorgeous card here: http://karensescape.blogspot.com/2009/04/true-beauty.html

Then Julie W. used some great big beads on her pink version with some Crystal Lacquer.

Some left over scraps and this card came together quickly...it's ready to be made into a Happy Birthday or Thank you card now.

Don't forget that this is the last week to get some of those great April specials!
