Time for Snow Women of the world!!
Well, after telling you how cute the snow woman was, I got busy! I also had to run out to Michaels (two visits in one week? unheard of!) to get some Buffalo Snow after seeing a super cute card on this blog...http://paperintheworks.blogspot.com/2008/11/just-chillin.html
I used our Snowflakes set and embossed in clear and then stamped over with Brilliance white. She just is so lovely, I think!
I haven't used my crimper in forever but something made me grab it, and this huge eyelet idea with the ribbon tied like that came from another blog...
At this angle you can see the embossed snowflakes better. Still looking for Dorothy Morton!

Looking for...
First of all, I'm looking for Dorothy Morton! I can't find your email or mailing address anywhere and you won the latest round of blog candy so I'd really like to get it out to you! Please send me a note...
Second...on SCS the other day someone wrote, "looking for a good man...snowman that is!" I know it brought a lot of giggles but it made me think about my new little guy that I just got from TAC. I raced to cut them all out (he, by the way, comes with a good woman - snow woman!) and quickly created a simple card that was heavily inspired by a layout from Julia S.
I really wasn't very happy before I made this little guy (sassy, sassy children left me feeling really down in the morning) but I treated myself to a Martha Stewart snowflake punch (on sale) and I had just received my new Nestabilities label folders from Michelle at http://www.stampingcottage.com/ The ribbon is of course, from Heidi at http://www.pinkhedgehogpapercrafts.com/.
So in the end, he just really cheered me up (as stamping often does!) and the kids came home from school acting pretty decent...I'm holding my breath!

More on the Bandana Technique!
Yikes! I'm fearful of boring you but I just had to share one more card from my Hostess Club get together. Julie Wittich used the Hieroglyph Horse set for hers and I think it came out terrific! In fact, everyone loved it so much this get together that they grabbed that set as well.

Bandana Technique
This has got to be one of the easiest and funest ways to use your stamps. I found that flowers, swirls and of course, paisleys work beautifully. On my sample card though even a swirly butterfly and or fancy crown came out nifty. I had so much fun with this and "taught" this technique at my hostess club meeting for the month (ladies, if you are coming over on Friday - don't look!)
On this card I used our scarlet and kraft papers...everyone agreed that they are just terrific in weight and color!

Last night my husband asked me to make a sympathy card for his boss at work...he's noticed how much they are appreciated in the past. So I grabbed one of my favorite, retired sets and went to work...the printed paper is actually a strip of wrapping paper! This also was a sketch this week somewhere on SCS - or atleast one I saw on some blogs! The card itself is a bit larger and measures 5 x 7 and I used watercolor pencils to color it in.
Funny that my scanner didn't pick up the blue of the sky...
