A Winner!

I wanted to announce the winner for my July's raffle! Congratulations to Kathy Manchester - you won a free Fall Magalogue (coming out 1 Sept!) and a $10 gift certificate from me.

I've been a bad blogger lately but I have been so busy working behind the scenes and creating new projects for my Open House on Wednesday, 12 August. If you are in the area, please contact me so I can send you the details...it's going to be so much fun!

Last week I mentioned that The Angel Company's famous Double Hostess rewards were back! They have some album kits and special, Limited Edition stamp sets available for hostesses so this may be the time for you to have a show with your friends... I have to say the stamps are wonderful and they are only available for two weeks at a time so I would plan your party with a calendar in hand!

Here's just a taste...but to see all the free goodies go HERE!

Calling all Papercrafters

Mischelle, the owner of The Angel Company is having a contest open to all papercrafters - you don't have to be an "angel" to participate! Here are the details -- you have lots of time to enter the following Contest Categories:

Stamp Art
Scrap Art
Paper Arts
Altered Art

Don't forget to go over to SCS via my Bushfire link! They want to encourage the global community to read more about this cause and to view this video. With over 90 items up for grabs in the non-raffle prize gallery, there's never been a better time to spread the word and make a donation to benefit the victims of the terrible fires that recently devastated Australia. They are trying to reach $10,000 but have only raised a bit over $2000 (monies go to the Red Cross) -- and there are some great "non raffle" prizes for sure!!

And now a quick card share - and then it's back to working on taxes for me. Ugh, it's already day 2 of it, no wonder I procrastinate each year!!

This card has a "happy" mistake...so even though it's quite simple, I wanted to show you. It measures 4.25 in by 4.5 in and I love that size! I must not have cleaned my flourish stamp very well; and so, when I inked it up with the pink and stamped final, I had a blackish/greyish bleed through in some spots. At first I thought, oh no! but then I noticed the resulting color actually matched perfectly to the look of the papers.

Card Materials:

Stamps: Inspirational Sayings, Flourishes

Paper: Uptown Girl

PS. To get your stamps really clean (and what I should have used but must have been too lazy and put the stamp away dirty) is our TAC spray cleaner! It's amazing and gets palette inks off perfectly.)

A Snow Day...and some blog candy!

It's the biggest snow storm we've had in the 5 years we've lived here in Washington, DC...it's so pretty out but strange feeling since just last week we were in the high 50 degrees and I was convinced the spring was here...after all, my daffodils are blooming out back!

Let's celebrate the coming spring (20 March is the first day of spring!) then with some blog candy! Here is a never officially released Easter stamp from The Angel Company and two rolls of springy ribbon (5 yards each). What a way to get an early "hop" on Easter!

Please leave a comment by Sunday, 8 March (Daylight Savings Time begins!) and be sure to leave your name if you post as "anonymous"! Thanks for playing along ~~ I love my readers! :)

Angel Noel

I had to make a Christmas card for my inlaws and every year they send out fancy angel cards so I reached for my retired TAC set that I love dearly...I gold embossed it on watercolor paper and then watercolored the image with SU watercolor crayons. I don't have Shimmerz yet (Heidi, I'll place an order one of these days!) so I grabbed my floor wax filled aqua brush and some long neglected Pearl Ex powders and added that to the greeting and wings. Please believe me when I say the colors do match in real life - sigh...to get a decent picture one day would be nice. :) I also paired the image with a K&C mat pad paper that I grabbed on sale one day and some Bazzill paper.

Be sure to visit me on Monday as I will be having a special blog candy for everyone who lives outside of the US and can't enter the TAC contests...this is my little offering to you!! Spread the word!!

So congrats to: Cheryl Russ, Debbie Gieger and Dorothy Morton. Thanks for dropping by everyone to check out my blog...

Last night my husband asked me to make a sympathy card for his boss at work...he's noticed how much they are appreciated in the past. So I grabbed one of my favorite, retired sets and went to work...the printed paper is actually a strip of wrapping paper! This also was a sketch this week somewhere on SCS - or atleast one I saw on some blogs! The card itself is a bit larger and measures 5 x 7 and I used watercolor pencils to color it in.

Funny that my scanner didn't pick up the blue of the sky...

Blog Candy, Fall Supplement & Last Cardstock Match!

Yup! It's a big day here! I got my Fall Supplement in the mail yesterday from TAC and it is packed with little idea cards as well as some great new stamp images. I'm ordering my extra copies today to send out to those to those customers that participated in my preorder special! Don't despair though, it's on PDF and TAC just posted it here: http://theangelcompany.net/fallsupplement.html

Just a tease of the cover!

I'm also posting my last in the series of Cardstock Color matches...to access them easily you can just click on the right sidebar below and choose "color matches" for the whole batch. I wanted to show you how beautifully TAC cardstock matches not only other papers in the Soar With It Collection (SWIC) but with other papers as well, like DCWV. This is one of my favorite combos and I had a card published in the catalog using it (the Elephant Take Pride card)....

and now for the "stuff" you really care about, tee hee...Blog Candy! Everyone loves snowmen (and women!) so let's celebrate with this new $8.95 set from the Fall Supplement and some Icicle Stickles to make some sparkly snow around them!

Just leave me a comment below about which SWIC card colors are your favorite and if you have or are tempted to try them now! If you post as anonoymous, please be sure to leave your email so I can get ahold of you if you win! The cut off will be 12:00 EST on Friday, 19 Sep and I will use the Random Generator to pick a winner!

If you don't get my monthly newsletters, let me know. I include project ideas, TAC specials and sneak peaks, and my own give aways. You won't be bombarded by emails, promise!

Also, shoot me an email if you would like the entire line of exclusive TAC papers and their cardstock coordinates in PDF.
