Grab some sunglasses!

because this is one bright card! Thankfully we had a nice warm and sunny spell to break up the winter (I still have snow in my front yard even though we hit 60 degrees yesterday!). The nice weather just called out to me to make a fun, springy card.

I used one of the "wilder" patterns from More Mimi as my card base and chose my colors from there... A while back I took Kim Teasdale's watercoloring class over on My Creative Classroom and this little gal was watercolored using Tombow markers. It's my first "real" attempt since taking the class so I am still learning...

I used an ultra fine black embossing powder and am so disappointed with all the little black specks it left behind - I am going to just toss the darn stuff because it happens every time and so why make life more aggravating than it needs to be?!

Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company
Stamps: Dear Friend
Accessories: More Mimi Soar with it Collection, DCWV Bright stack (green), black paper, Nestabilities, ribbon, button, Tombow markers and aqua brush

Thanks for stopping by...does it feel like March is whirling by to you too?!

This card is adorable!!!! You did wonderful on the coloring too! I have given up on using black EP for the same reason you mentioned. Now I just use versamark, black ink, and clear EP. Works soooo much better

I used to hate my detail black EP too, but now I use an X-Static pad and it really works, better than a dry sheet or anything else people suggest. I don't remember seeing one of those at any of your workshops, so...

I have tried the black ink with the clear powder method (I know you have the Transcendence powder, perfect for this technique). and I don't think it gives as sharp an image to color, which is nice for soft sketchy looking images and pastel colors, but not really sharp enough for the colors and image you are using on this card.

The scary thing is that I did use one of those X static thingees! Which was out, BTW, at the birthday card class you just came to! ;)
