Lace and Pearls

Kinda girly stuff and perfect for Mother's Day! This is the card we're making today for my hostess club meeting. I have almost every butterfly stamp there is from The Angel Company so it's important for me not to forget the "oldies but goodies". Butterfly Bits is a perfect example because it's great for quick and easy cards and I love the extra doodads included in the set to make unique backgrounds, which I learned from either Trudy or Laurie.
For this card I used the Red Orange Bazzill monochromatic packs we carry and first stamped the solid image in Versamark Dazzle. It has just the tiniest sheen to it, very nice. Then I came with the top image and overstamped the solid with Versamagic Pink Grapefruit. Initially I had planned to stamp Happy Mother's Day with the same Pink Grapefruit ink but when I laid my stamp down to give me an idea where to stamp the butterflies, ink remained on my paper in the most unfortunate place. Not being one to throw away a good piece of paper, I layered it with a darker shade of Bazzill and added a strip of lace. In the end, I love the sentiment popped up and I added the pearls to help "fill" up some of the empty space. Phew, disaster adverted!!

Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company

Speaking of Mother's Day, don't miss out on these great Father's Day stamps available this month only from The Angel Company...and,
