Inking the Edges

I admit it...I don't often ink around my edges but I had to on this card when I accidently sponged into the tan part and now, I'm so glad I did!! For this card, it's perfect.

I've been quite dismayed with my cardmaking these days. Sure I like simple, but lately my cards have just looked "blah" when I post them here. Honestly, they do look better in real life but that's just not good enough. This card brought back some spunk in me as I kept pushing myself to add just one more "detail". First it was the Cuttlebug embossing of that burnt orange strip. Then I add the corner metal piece. Then I thought, hm...it's quite empty in the blue area so I masked and stamped on the script. And then finally, I stippled on some Burnt Sierra to make it more vintagy and that led me to the inking the edges. It's the perfect guy card, at least here with me holding it - not sure how nice it'll look when a post it.

The best part of this card is that the Ship Collage stamp is now on sale for less than $6...but you can only order it until June 25th and then it's gone.

Playing around with trying to take the best photo and show some of the dimension...

Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company
Stamps: Ship Collage
Accessories: Winchester Soar with it Collection and cardstock (this is some manly paper I tell you!), embossing powder, metal charm, CB embossing folders, stipple brush

We went to see the Karate Kid this weekend for my son's birthday - what a super movie. I think it's even better than the original!

I love all the little things you've added on - you are right, the card wouldn't be half as good without them.
