Fall????

I don't even want to think about it quite yet...but somehow I managed to color my sunflowers in a very fallish color. And, The Angel Company has released some Spooky sets early from it's Fall Magalogue so you can get busy creating!

I was playing with my new Copics (Caboodle set A and G) and they were quite dark and I wasn't sure if I would "keep" them (the sunflowers that is!) I spritzed them with my new Sparkle Sheer Shimmer from The Angel Company and they had an ever so subtle little sparkle. Then I tried to lighten them by adding a light yellow copic but that managed to really soak the paper...and it tore. Did I throw it away? Nope! I crinkled it and crumpled it up even more, then flattened it out and glued it down to a fresh paper to hide the tears. So much effort into just a practice piece!

Card Materials:
Stamps: Sunflowers, Give Praise to Him
Accessories: DCWV Craft pad, nestablilites, border punch, Sheer Shimmer Spritz, Copics

What I found about many of the new sets this year, is they have a matching stamp that works perfectly for finishing off the inside of a card or the envelope. I know my inside isn't as fancy as what most folks do, but for me, I normally leave the inside of the card unfinished so this is really stepping it up! :)

My oval did not want to lay flat because of the slight layers and lace I had used. I found the normal pop dot size almost too high though so I remembered seeing that Mel (from Melstampz) had used fun foam before and I had lots of that left over from an old project. It worked perfectly and was easy to cut free hand and so that it would give me lots of support. NOTE: if you peek, you can see the pink under my oval so in the meantime I picked up a white sheet of fun foam for just 39 cents!

If you've made it this far, congratulations! Thanks for hanging in there with all of my ramblings...I have blog candy BELOW this post and it's open until August 12, plus I sponsored the Embellish Magazine challenge this week and you can still join in on the fun over there as well!

Chris
Love how you saved it and didn't scrap it; otherwise we would have missed out on a great card.
