TAC Farewell Blog Hop

Wow...sadly this is the most players in a blog hop I've ever seen! But we're getting together to pay our final respects to a great company, The Angel Company. What a treat it was for me to use and share their stamps over the past 9 years. I know I will continue to grab for them over and over in the future as well!

Do you ever buy a book or magazine from the bookstore or craft store only to bring it home and be sadly disappointed once you sit and thumb through it's pages? Recently I bought Delight in the Details by Lisa Pace because I had a coupon burning a hole in my pocket. I figured I'd regret it later ... but no! It is one of the best books I've picked up and the crepe paper rosette featured on my card below is from it's pages. If you click on the card you may see the stickles that run around the edge of it...so pretty in real life!

This card is in honor of all the wonderful friends I've made over the past years...and I look forward to keeping those friendships alive and making new friends on my stamping journey!

I hope you'll take a moment to sign up for my blog candy (US only please - I'm sorry!) Leave a comment and I'll pull a winner on Tuesday, midnight.

Please be sure to visit these talented Angels!

Stamping on Fabric Blog Hop

Starting today, The Angel Company is hosting another great technique Blog Hop - and you are invited to play along!! It's a fun one...stamping on fabric!

I stayed with my old tried and true method...palette inks and muslin. In the past I've really enjoyed making baby onsies or kitchen towels with this technique. Here I made a mini collage (which my daughter told me was boring) and went from there.

I had a fun clear button which I glued (used Glossy Accents) to some of the green DP in our Catalynne paper collection.

Card Materials: all stamps from The Angel Company
Stamps: Hope Perches, Theo's Joy, Fanciful Vintage, Vintage Backgrounds
Accessories: Catalynne Paper Collection (TAC), Kraft (recollections), muslin, lace, button, twine, Flourishes Impressionabilities Die (TAC), Sizzix tag die, Versamark ink, Burnt Sienna, Landscape and Reflection Blue pallette inks

I hope you'll play along and be sure to visit all of these creative ideas!

From the Heart Blog Hop!

Another blog hop from The Angel Company has snuck up on me but I hope you'll have time to play along because there will be one lucky, random winner in each category: Angel and Fan!

This month the theme is From the Heart...

Luckily my new Bad to the Bone stamp set just came in and I quickly cut it out and inked it up. I'm thinking this could be a masculine card because I used a lot of black and just a touch of pink...what do you think?

A few little details like glossy accents and the scorbug to give it some umpf!

Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company
Stamps: Bad to the Bone
Accessories: Uptown Girl paper pad, glossy accents, scor bug, Spellbinders, copic markers

My daughter asked my how did "Bad to the Bone" have anything to do with valentines? I told her, "you know -- you're bad, very bad" and chuckled. She just gave me this ewwww, gross, you're too old to think like that look. sigh... oh well. I thought it was funny!

I hope you'll have a chance to play along and here are all the other entries to inspire you!

Technique Blog Hop!

It's blog hop time over at The Angel Company again and I didn't think I would have a chance to play along this time. But, I started my card last night in between cleaning bathrooms, running kids out to movies and dinner (my husband and I finally sat down to eat at 10 pm - insane!), and that was after subbing a half day, taking the car to get fixed, running out to Walmart for a quick Christmas gift that I have to wrap and mail today...etc, etc. I'm sure you recognize the day!! :)

I finished up this morning with the ribbon and happy birthday tag - I am late sending out my BIL a card so this is the perfect solution - a card for him and the blog hop!

Today's technique features brayers. I have been a long time fan of Michelle Zindorf. She is a demo for another stamp company but travels around the midwest teaching her brayer techniques at various stamp stores. She's also kind enough to share super detailed tutorials here on her blog. In fact the post I am sending you to is the direct inspiration for this card. I used all TAC supplies for my card and honestly, I threw my first attempt out. Even this card I'm not 100% happy with but it's good practice because you can see what works and what doesn't for you...so don't give up on your first try!!

This little penguin is one of The Angel Company's free stamp with purchase choices...and this month, when you spend $30, you get to pick out 3 stamps for free!
Card Materials: all stamps and papers from The Angel Company, clear embossing powder, 2 blue/1 purple dye inks, border punch, ribbon, metal loop, gel pens to color penguin, versamark ink/blender pen, and BRAYER!

Be sure to check out all of the other great creations below!

Flavor of Fall Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by today! The Angel Company had so much fun during the Halloween Blog Hop that they decided to have another one, this time celebrating fall and giving thanks!! You can add your linky here until 11 pm EST on Saturday or if you don't have time to play along, be sure to check out all of the great ideas.

I decided to make a card and a matching candle...it's the perfect hostess gift or little token for someone you are thankful for! This is Lucy and if you love Mabelle's work, there are 4 little cuties in this set - perfect for fall, Christmas, Valentine's Day and birthdays. It's the perfect set. And, don't you love this new paper line from The Angel Company? It's two sided!!

Don't forget that if you wanted to purchase one of these Limited Edition sets, they are just $3.95 with a $30 order (you only need one $30 order and you can buy one of each!)...but you have to do it by 31 Oct...

Enjoy the rest of the Flavor of Fall Blog Hop!!

Holiday Workshop

Yesterday I had 8 ladies over for a card workshop and we really had a lot of fun! We made 10 different cards using the retired Holiday Collage set and the Reece Soar with it Collection. I made up the samples and pre cut the paper but, as usual, there were many tweaks to the designs as folks made changes to suit their tastes. I joked that the first time it happened my feelings were hurt but now I love to see the different ideas that come from this event.

Thanks to Rosalina for snapping a group shot of her cards...

Here are some of my favorites that you can't really see. The designs were simple - the idea was to let the paper shine here and make it simple enough to make muliples for Christmas.

I had fun designing these and challenged myself to use some long neglected tools: gold embossing powder, gold eyelets and believe it or not, my crimper!!

Hope this inspires you to get started on your Christmas cards...

I'll be back on Friday for our Fall Blog Hop from The Angel Company. This hop will focus on cards and projects that capture that fabulous flavor of fall and the Thanksgiving season. It's open to everyone so I hope you have a chance to play along - it'll be open until Saturday around 10 pm.

Wicked Good Blog Hop

Trick or Treat!

The day has arrived and my son can finally eat my "samples".

It was fun to dig out my can of webbing to add to the Halloween feel of my projects but this can is over 7 years old so I wasn't sure what to expect. It didn't explode - yay!

So creepy! I love how our beautiful Bazzill Soar with it Cardstock is transformed with some embossed black ink into a scary treat.

Tulle for Halloween? Some more webbing spray on one of our stamp boxes and I had the perfect gummy brain holder!

I hope you enjoyed these little projects - there is more to behold, all of it good I'm sure, on the remainder of the blog hop. It's going on all day and you are welcome to join in on the fun until 11 pm! The hop begins here: Savvy Projects Blog

REMEMBER: Don’t upload your card/project to the gallery until the day of the Blog Hop! Also remember to put your tag line in “quotes” ... otherwise it will be broken up into individual words (blog, good, hop, wicked).

This summer I was craving some Pumpkin Cranberry muffins and I could not find canned pumpkin anywhere! So this fall, I am stocking up! Interestingly, I heard this week that pumpkin is actually better tasting the next year...so I am ready! In the meantime I am cracking open two of these cans to make that same Pumpkin Cranberry bread in mini loaves for the church bazaar this Saturday. I have the recipe here if you click on the recipe link in the sidebar...it is DELISH!!

Be sure to come back Saturday to see my Blog Hop entry and I hope you'll have a chance to play along!
