Seminar Weekend!

Starting yesterday, some very lucky Angels went to this year's seminar for The Angel Company...sigh. I envy them (but in a nice way!) and am very thankful to those who managed to get out a few photos and send us news when they can. I know they should be enjoying their time to the fullest but they are true ANGELS for thinking of us who couldn't go. And now, any day, the catalogs should begin to arrive!! Yay!!

I've "heard" that I have 3 cards in the catalog. Woohoo! I was a little sad when I saw one of the display boards because it had four of my cards on it...these are cards that didn't make the catalog cut. I sent in 4 cards for submission and then I had entered a Trio card contest and those entries were actually pulled for possible catalog publication. In the end they didn't make it so I'll be sharing those here.

In the meantime - here's the board and some other new set close ups! Feast your eyes and drool! PS. My cards are from left to right, first row, last one, second row, third one down and last row: the second and last card!

Here are some new sets that caught my eye...

If you didn't preorder your catalog, send me a note - I only have 10 left that are not spoken for!

More Blog Candy!

So the catalog will go live in about another week...once I know the catalogs have shipped, the wait is almost unbearable. To help pass the time, let's have some more blog candy!

I've always loved this Gerbera Daisy and this set of sayings, Little Things is so sweet. Who can resist phrases like: birthday candles, butterfly kisses or milk chocolate!?!

Just leave a comment before midnight, Wednesday for a chance to win these two sets!

McStamper - you won the last blog candy - please contact me by Friday or I will have to award it to the next person in line...thank you!!

And to leave you with just a little more catalog excitement (have you preordered your copy yet?!) here are some Hostess Reward sneak peek sets!

These are sets you can earn for free by having a party - I'm happy to do long distance workshops with you...just ask me how!

Do you want to see more?

By now I'm biting my nails (and I don't bite them normally!) in anticipation of having the hard copy of the new TAC catalog in my hands.

These two sets are all about "cute", eh?! Love them...but don't worry, there is a little of every style with in the pages of this new catalog!

Some of the lucky angels that went to seminar have been gracious enough to pass along some peeks of the pages inside the covers of the new catty!

Do you like what you see?!

What a beautiful cover!

Mischelle, the owner of The Angel Company, just posted the new catalog cover on her blog. Gosh, I can't wait to see it!

This is just one of the TWO new paper packs that will be coming out...and, did I mention that it was two sided?! Mischelle also gave us a little hint about something brand new that The Angel Company will now offer...specially packaged Copic color schemes for TAC! She wrote:

Our Caboodles(tm) are hands down my favorite new thing(s)! Cardstock is in stock and the colors are GORGEOUS! They go beautifully with the marker sets and the colors and papers compliment each other wonderfully! Keep in mind when you see these new sets that we choose our paper collections based on the Copic palettes. Each Caboodles(tm) Collection is designed to work together and they truly do!

Keep coming back for more peeks of the inside!

Hostess Set Sneak Peek

The little girls (and the little boy too!) have been a big hit from The Angel Company's Wonder & Joy set. I'm happy to let you know that there are some more cute sets, in that same style, in the base catalog being released end of June. And, this precious gal will be one of the new, FREE hostess sets when you hold a party!

She really was quick and easy to color - I bascially made this card in 30 minutes. I started coloring before the kids went to school and after I returned home, I just layered, added some details and assembled! I hadn't used my new Martha Stewart border punch and...the flower embossing? That is from a Sizzix embossing plate that I have had probably close to two years and hadn't used yet either...sigh.

Merry Christmas and peeking allowed!

For there is born to you this day in the city of David
a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11
Merry Christmas!

If you missed the first sneak peak, just keep scrolling down, but you don't want to miss it!

Mischelle, The Angel Company owner, posted this great idea for all of us Angels and I wanted to share it with you. Wouldn't this make a great stocking stuffer or birthday present? It's a matching game and uses the acrylic Scallop Frames we carry. Plus these adorable sock monkeys are just a peak at what's to come in the next Spring Magalogue...

Sneak Peak #1

I know that it's silly to be already jumping up and down in excitement for the Spring Magalogue but I can't wait until The Angel Company releases it's next issue on 1 Feb. I'm waiting on my preorder of stamps right now and hope to start posting samples for you in January!

In the meantime, you will just have to feast your eyes on this cute, cute little gal that Mischelle, the owner of The Angel Company, posted.

Isn't that carrot car the best? I'll have another sneak peak later this upcoming week...but in the meantime, you really should pop over to the specials page to see the latest slashed prices. Chipboard alphabets for only $1!! A paper keeper for $15 and the paper, well, you just can't beat these deals...you could even get a Memory Purse with your Christmas money and have lots leftover!

Here's just a sample of what I recently did with the chipboard alphas (I can't show you more right now since I entered it into a contest but hopefully soon). But, you can paint them, trace them and cover them...I love them!

Have a super weekend!

Angel Fun

I had a wonderful day last week! I have many online friends and I finally got to meet one of them in person! Rita W was in town visiting her son and she made time to come see me for the day. It was so much fun to just sit and chit chat (and I made her sit and look at all of my cards since no one in my house really cares about them - THANK YOU Rita!). I also enjoyed sharing ideas and thoughts about projects and possible classes with Rita. She's a real Angel and the day flew by...

The other fun thing is that Michelle is beginning to show some sneak peaks (this is a clickaable link!) from the upcoming Fall Magalogue...called Inspiration Avenue. I can't wait to see it 1 September but in the mean time, I guess these samples will have to do!

Don't miss out on all of the great specials from The Angel Company!

  • Surprise Boxes
  • Super cute fall stamp of the month - I love that squirrel
  • Double Hostess rewards...and more than just double rewards - there are extra goodies!
  • $50 sign on special - I love being an Angel!!

Real Sneak Peaks!

Woo hoo!! Last night I was out with my husband and son to see the Transformers movie and my daughter (who's too embarrassed to be seen with parents at the theater! crazy kid) stayed home...Mischelle Smith, owner of The Angel Company, called to congratulate me for winning the Heart of The Angel Company award! How neat is that? I'm really honored and excited.

Mischelle also did some posting on her blog, Savvy Projects over at The Angel Company's main website. She's released pictures of the NEW catalog and has some great sneak peak cards posted below.

Front Cover

Back Cover

Inside Back Cover

Why am I showing you the back of the inside cover? It lists the names of the contributors to the card samples within this year's catalog - and I'm there! Another big woo hoo!! Like the song goes, "I'm floating on sunshine!"
Have a great weekend. Thanks for letting me share my exciting news!

Out with the Old, In with the New!

Just in case you were wondering where I've been, I was lost in Blog Land!! Last Friday I was the sponsor for Friday Sketchers (link down below in my sidebar) and I made it my goal to comment on every participent's entry. There were 200 blogs that I visited since Monday and boy did I have a treat looking at all of those wonderful creations...

Today I needed to rush and get a birthday card in the mail for my Brother In Law so I found the CPS sketch to be very inspiring. This was such a quick card to make...but I have a very funny confession to make. See that star? This set retires today and I never cut it out until TODAY because it just didn't really "grab" me. In the last month or so though I have seen some wonderful cards featuring star stamps and I found that this was perfect after all. So, today is the last day to grab this great set, Trendy Holiday Tags. In fact today at 5 pm is the last chance you have to buy any of the stamps featured right HERE!

I just want to highlight two things here. Transcendence powder allows you to emboss with Palette (ie. dye) inks and so the stars really shines. And, what I love about the Die Cuts With a View paper that The Angel Company carries is that is has a white core so when you lightly sand it - voila, it really pops!

Last sneak peak from me - I am crossing my fingers that I'll get my demo copy this weekend and I should have all my catalogs early next week so it's not too late to still pre order your copy!

Sneak Peak #6

PLEASE NOTE: The online catalog will be down starting tonight at 5 pm until Tuesday at 5 pm.

More Friday Sketchers Fun!

Bea had such a great sketch over at Friday Sketchers that I wanted to play along again! This time I went back to the card size that I am most comfortable with and the sketch worked perfectly. I had bought a little hand held sewing machine so I wouldn't have to drag out my big machine but the stitching gave me LOTS of trouble today - so don't look too closely! (wink, wink)

The colors are really a lot better in real life but again today, I just can't find a good spot for a photo...still, I'm going to post it so that I can share another sneak peak with you too!

Card Materials:
Stamps: Some Bunny
Accessories: Angelee Soar with it Collection and cardstock, In Bloom Blossoms and Blooms, nestablilites, prismacolord pencils

Only a few more days until The Angel Company catalog is released! Please don't forget that if you want any of the on sale stamps - you must order by 5 pm CST, Friday, 26 June.

Sneak Peak #5

Munchkins in the House!!

This weekend I'm babysitting my sister's two little children (I should include my two kids in that because they are a tremendous help and are watching Veggie Tales right now so that I have a moment to update my blog!!). Gosh, I forgot how early 3 and 5 years old wake up - ready to go!!

This week I had a chance to play with the SplitCoastStampers card challenge and then had to wait a day for the rain to clear enough to get a decent picture! I call it "Happy Cow" because it reminds me of the TV commercial...

Card Materials:
Stamps: An Udder Birthday
Accessories: Crystal Lacquer, Stickles, Lilly Anna Soar with it Collection and Cardstock, Fiskars and CB embossing plates

Sneak Peak #4
And of course I didn't forget you were due another sneak peak!! Have a great weekend!!

Another Sneak Peak!

Drum roll please!!

Sneak Peak #2

And I wanted to show you a multi layer card I just made last week...this is very unusual of me but by following a sketch, it forced me out of my box. And I love it! It's hard to see but I stamped that little bow a second time, cut it out and stuck it on top to give it some more dimension.

Card Materials:
Stamps: Some Bunny
Accessories: Lilly Anna Soar with it Collection and cardstock, MS punch, ribbon, CB embossing folder, Prismacolored pencils and gamsol

This is a rather short post today...I think I'm still pooped from yesterday! I won't bore you with the details but it ranged from pleasureable chores like making belated birthday cards for my two sister in laws (I'm still spinning that it's June already!), some thank you notes to bailing buckets of water from my crawl space last night after a terrific storm. Anyone have experience digging a french drain?!? Yikes!

Thank you to everyone who left such encouraging notes about my glass etching project...

Sneak Peak Time!

Every four days I plan to show you a little sneak peak from The Angel Company's new catalog coming out 1 July. I can't wait to get it myself and I know that June will seem to take forever until that big box arrives at my door.

Sneak Peak #1

From the little I have seen, it looks like there will be something for everyone's tastes...so don't forget to preorder yours and beat the rush.

There are some fantastic samples posted on the company's main website for this month's Spring into June stamp specials. Here is just a snippet of them but if you click here, you'll go straight to the link and you can enjoy them full size. They range from fun and funky to quite elegant!

And lastly, I hope you'll join me on Monday as I participate in a Home Decor blog hop with some very talented Angels! I'm putting the final touches on my project right now and can't wait to share it with you!

One Tough Critic

My daughter is tough on me...so why do I keep taking my beloved creations to her for her seal of approval?! Lately it's been more in the vein of "gee Mom, did you really make that?" but yesterday it was back to "that is the ugliest card ever!

I'm going to risk showing it here to see what you think. I actually liked it and worked hard to match the bee's color to the rest of the papers. They are a bit brighter and bolder than I like to work with but I thought they suited the little guy well. This is from this week's card sketch on Splitcoaststampers (SCS) and I thought it would be a fun layout. I sparkled him up and layered the colors, and even learned from my friend Silke in Germany to add some white accents! The bee is just part of the vintage set that The Angel Company will be offer next month!

Card Materials:
Paper:
Miss Moxie patterned and cardstock
Stamps:
April’s Vintage Limited Edition, words from: My Journey
Martha Stewart punch, Circle Nestabilities, felt flower:
Ava Collection, black and icicle stickles

Speaking of SCS, they are holding a "non-raffle" to raise money for the bushfire in Australia and all funds go to the Red Cross...what a great community. I donated a terrific stamp set (Forever Family) so I can only encourage you to play along! I do know someone who won last time they did this for the flood vicitims in the midwest...just click on the image and it'll take you right there!

And lastly, (I'm must be channeling a lot of SCS right now!) you must check out my friend Franca's gallery...she has done amazing things with the tree from TAC's Love and Laughter set! She has promised to tell me her secret for the mugs and her work is really beautiful.

Showers of Love

It's funny because the set that I "least loved" from my preorder of Serendipity (aka Magalogue!) sets was Showers of Love...but now I have lots of ideas pouring in my head. (ha ha - I know, my kids think I'm lame too with my jokes!) Anyways, I pulled it out for this quick card and just submitted a card for one of TAC's monthly card contests (for demos only - sorry, but wish me luck!!)

I used the Mimi collection for this card...and some lime green scrapper's floss. I'm addicted to it lately!

Here's another little girl from the Everything's Blooming set plus I combined it with You Are, another "least favorite" set until I used it!! Does that ever happen to you?! Anyways, I combined it with the Cha Cha paper pack and dared to use a huge flower on top...I have a very hard time using flowers, even though I keep buying them and trying them. :)

UPDATE!! I only have 3 magalogues left but I just faxed in an order for 25 more copies. First come, first served but I want to warn you that I will be out of the net through Sunday as I'm flying out to Illinois for my cousin's wife memorial service.
